December 2016

12 Questions to Consider

T'is the season to review, release and re-frame.  It's my end of year reminder gift to you.  Time to reflect on your celebrations, successes, joys, disappointments, frustrations, milestones and what you learned about yourself and life in 2016.

It takes just a few moments to reflect back and explore a few simple questions.  See if answering each can help you celebrate and recognize what you did, where you are and where you want to be in 2017. Just scheduling a few moments over the next few weeks to do this reflection may offer you insight you might not otherwise recognize.

Reflection Questions

Looking Back:

  • What are you most grateful for in 2016? What were your successes and accomplishments?  What do you feel most proud of?
  • What did you learn about yourself or your work?  Which lessons will you take with you in 2017?
  • How are you different now than you were a year ago?
  • Where did you simply have fun in 2016?
  • How did you use your personal time in 2016?  Are you happy with that decision?
  • What do you want to close out in 2016?  What is no longer a priority?  What can you let go of?

Looking Ahead:

  • What do you want for yourself in 2017?
  • In what areas of your life do you want to place more focus?
  • What new habits will you pick up?
  • What do you need to do more of, or start doing?
  • Who do you need to become to accomplish your most important plans or goals?
  • What will you look forward to celebrating in December 2017?

As you spend these moments reflecting, pay close attention to your self-talk. What do you repeatedly say to yourself that might prevent you from reaching the kind of success you desire?

As you celebrate the holidays with your family and friends I hope you’ll take time to give yourself the gift of reflection.   And if you find you need a thought partner to help you move forward with your goals, give yourself the gift of a great coach!

Enjoy the Holidays!

"Time spent in self-reflection is never wasted - it is an intimate date with yourself." -Dr. Paul TP Wong
